This four-part training course helps nurses, midwives and sexual health workers understand the public health aspects and clinical management of common STIs, HIV and hepatitis B. The course helps participants develop confidence in a proactive and practical approach to health care and evidence-based practice.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Describe the clinical presentation and the role of nurse’s and midwives in managing STIs
  2. Identify the priority populations for STI and BBV screening
  3. Demonstrate confidence in discussing sexual health with patients
  4. Describe contact tracing processes
  5. Describe current HIV prevention methods

Nurses, midwives, and sexual health workers.


Accreditation

This course, including the pre-learning activities is equivalent to 10.5 CPD hours.
