A huge thank you to everyone who attended the 12th Australasian Viral Hepatitis Conference, it was great to have 419 members of our community back together whether it was in Brisbane, Sydney or virtually.
A special thank you also goes to our committee, reviewers, speakers, sponsors and supporters.
During the conference we heard from an incredible line-up of speakers.
They inspired us to believe that eliminating viral hepatitis is within our reach.
They showcased successful initiatives reaching the community’s most marginalised people.
They shared learnings needed for strategic scale up of testing and treatment efforts.
And they spelled out the work that needs to be done over the coming years to meet viral hepatitis elimination targets, both in Australia and globally.
Carrie Fowlie from Hepatitis Australia summed it up best in her address on Tuesday morning: “It’s a rare time that we ever get to eliminate a disease and we get to do it now.”
