ASHM has taken a leadership role in advancing HIV policy in Australia. Most recently the ASHM PrEP Clinical Guidelines were a key document that supported the approval of HIV PrEP on the PBS. ASHM also oversees key resources for HIV clinicians including the ASHM ARV Guidelines, HIV Management in Australasia and the National HIV Testing Policy.

ASHM’s HIV education and training programs meet the learning needs of a diverse number of healthcare practitioners. The Australasian HIV&AIDS Conference is the premier HIV Conference in Australia and the Asia and Pacific region.  ASHM have been running this annual conference since 1990 and attracts multi-disciplinary delegates and presenters from across the HIV sector.
