Course Summary
Synopsis
At the end of 2017 there were estimated to be 7481 people in Adelaide living with CHC. These individuals are eligible for life saving DAAs which have a cure rate of 95%. This update will provide primary care providers with knowledge to engage their patients in care, assess for advanced liver disease and increase their confidence to prescribe hepatitis C treatments.

</br> <p>For more information,<a href="http://files.clickdimensions.com/ashmorgau-apflc/files/curinghcvreynella.pdf?1563159488810"> please click here to download the Course Flyer.</a></p> </br> <p>GPs and primary care providers are encouraged to attend this latest treatment update.</p> </br> <p>Primary care practitioners in the Adelaide have the opportunity to cure people living with hepatitis C through initiating patients on new highly effective DAA treatments. .</p> </br> <p><strong>Learning Methods</strong></p> <p>Learning Outcomes</p> <p>• Identify priority populations for hepatitis C testing</p> <p>• Interpret test results and diagnose hepatitis C appropriately </p> <p>• Assess for liver fibrosis and other co-morbidities </p> <p>• Communicate information confidently to actively engage individuals in decisions about their treatment and care</p> <p>• Initiate treatment, monitor and follow-up according to the recommended guidelines</p> </br> <p><strong>Target Audience</strong></p> <p>GPs, primary health care professionals, nurses, health care workers in drug or alcohol settings, health care workers in prison settings. </p> </br> <p><strong>Inclusions</strong></p> <p>PPT presentations and case discussions.</p> </br> <p><strong>Scholarships</strong></p> <p>Limited scholarships available. Cancellations received before 28 July 2019 will not incur a cancellation fee. Cancellations received in writing on or after 23 September 2019 will incur a $70 cancellation fee. This fee may be waived in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of ASHM.</P> </br> <p><Strong>Substitutions: </strong></p> <p>As an alternative to cancellation, your registration may be transferred to another person without incurring any penalty. ASHM must be advised of the transfer in writing. Please email the name, position, phone and email address of the new delegate to education@ashm.org.au.</p>
