ASHM is thrilled to share the updated Australian STI Management Guidelines for use in Primary Care, available now on a new website following an extensive clinical review.

The guidelines are an online resource for primary care health professionals, providing concise information to support the prevention, testing, diagnosis, management, and treatment of sexually transmissible infections (STIs) for adults and adolescents.

The review has resulted in updated recommendations, including that all STI testing should include both HIV and syphilis testing. These guidelines have been endorsed as a national guideline by the Blood Borne Viruses and Sexually Transmitted Infections Standing Committee (BBVSS).

Keep an eye out in the coming months as we share more information on this important clinical resource. Sincere thanks to the Steering Committee and Reference Committees, chaired by ASHM President Dr Nicholas Medland, who worked on this review
