facilitating linkages between nurses and hepatitisc

ASHM is coordinating an innovative new program to increase access to hepatitis C treatment for people living in regional NSW. The program commenced on 1 November 2020 and facilitates linkages between nurses who perform patient assessment and medical/nurse practitioners experienced in prescribing hepatitis C treatment.

Download the Remote Prescribing Pathway HERE. This flowchart summarises the roles of the participating nurses (referrers) and medical/nurse practitioners (prescribers).

ASHM will communicate regularly with participating nurses and nurse/medical practitioners and monitor the program uptake. This program is supported by NSW Ministry of Health.

If you are a nurse or prescriber in regional NSW and would like to join or know more about the program, please email NSWLinkages@ashm.org.au.
