New Hepatitis B resource for primary care providers

ASHM and The Cancer Council NSW launch 'B Positive - everything you wanted to know about hepatitis B: a guide for primary care providers'
The Australasian Society for HIV Medicine (ASHM) and The Cancer Council NSW have joined forces to develop this practical resource to support primary care providers in combating hepatitis B. Primary care providers play a vital role in the response to hepatitis B.
Important issues for primary care providers addressed in this book include:

Hepatitis B testing and interpreting test results

Primary prevention of hepatitis B virus infection

Assessment, monitoring and treatment

Managing patients with advanced liver disease

Infection control

Legal considerations around privacy and confidentiality
The resource incorporates a fact sheet for people living with chronic hepatitis B infection and contact details of useful organisations

It is anticipated that a hard copy of this resource will be available in the coming months.
