Consortium for Capacity Development in HIV and AIDS
Post date: 29 April 2008
A part of AusAID's Regional HIV/AIDS Capacity Building Program
As part of AusAID's Regional HIV/AIDS Capacity Building Program 2007-2011, a Consortium of Australian organisations has been formed to support capacity development of counterpart institutions and organisations working in HIV responses in the Asian and Pacific regions. This Consortium will continue to expand the work commenced under the AusAID HIV/AIDS Partnership Initiative 2004-2007.
ASHM's International Division is a member of this new consortium and will be working in partnership with other members to deliver improved support to our regional colleagues. Countries and regions where the Consortium will most likely be working include Indonesia, Timor Leste, Pacific Island countries and territories, the Mekong region, and China. There will also be region-wide activities supported through the Consortium framework. The emphasis of the Consortium's work will be to develop local capacity in accordance with each country's national strategy priorities and complementing AusAID and other bilateral HIV and AIDS programs.
The Consortium plans to commence operations in July 2008.
