HAART and Contagiousness

Bernard Hirschel Lecture
Professor Bernard Hirschel (Division of Infectious Diseases Geneva University Hospital Geneva, Switzerland) gave a lecture titled 'Highly Active Antiretroviral Therapy (HAART) and Contagiousness' at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research Sydney on 18th March 2008. Feedback from the lecture was positive. The lecture covered the following areas of HAART and contagiousness in terms of:
- The relation between viremia and contagiousness without treatment
- Effects on viremia and contagiousness with HAART
- Conclusions to draw (or not) for the individual
- Possible consequences for the epidemic
- Background to the "Swiss Statement"
