The following are a range of electronic resources produced by, and in collaboration with, ASHM. They include distance learning packages, CD-ROMs, e-books, and audio-visual media.

Kits and CD-ROMs

These kits and self-contained CD-ROMs have been produced specially as distance learning aids.

Video and audio

The following audio-visual resources can be used in group training or provided to individuals as required. They have no detail page. For more information and to order, contact ASHM.

  • HIV Treatment Adherence video
    Produced in 2001, this video is about developing supportive doctor/patient relationships. It includes a case dramatisation and seminar discussion led by Drs Anne Mijch and Ron McCoy.
  • HIV/AIDS - Supporting Treatment Adherence audio cassette
    Presented by Dr John D'Arcy and produced by DriveTime Radio in 2001, this broadcast discusses key issues around treatment adherence from medical, social science and PLWHA perspectives.

Broadcasts

A series of broadcasts covering HIV, hepatitis C and related diseases were broadcast to over 400 satellite sites in rural and regional Australia. These are available to view online as Web streams using Microsoft Media Player. You may also order/purchase copies on VHS video direct from the Rural Health Education Foundation.

  • HIV Risk Assessment and Diagnosis


    (Program 305 - broadcast 20 February 2001)
    This broadcast examined issues including HIV risk assessment and diagnosis, particularly as it applies in rural areas, late presentation & diagnosis and managing HIV in a shared care model for isolated clinicians.

  • Hepatitis C - An Update on Testing, Treatment and Management


    (Program 109 - broadcast 29 May 2001)
    This broadcast examined recent advances in combination therapy, issues around testing for hepatitis C, and the impact of the disease & its management on people's lives.

  • Talking Together


    (Program 305 - broadcast 25 March 2003)
    Contemporary Issues in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health: HIV, Hepatitis and Sexual Health. ASHM has recently published this broadcast with support materials in the form of a distance learning package.
