Clinical Science of HIV Medicine
This CD provides an introduction to the clinical science underpinning HIV and represents module 1 of the ASHM Short Course in HIV Medicine. It is provided free of charge to course participants and is also available for sale at $25.
Module 1 presents an overview of the epidemic, the structure and life cycle of the HIV virus, the immune response, clinical course of the disease and the scientific basis for treatment of HIV.
The CD is sent out to course particpanats as prior reading and are required to be familiar with the information contained on the CD before attending the face-to-face delivery of Module 2.
Continuing Medical Education (CME)
Each section of the CD has associated CME test questions which can be submitted online or printed and faxed to ASHM. When submitted online a confirmation page is returned with the correct answers.
