What ASHM does in HIV

ASHM supports the health workforce in HIV across Australia, New Zealand and Asia-Pacific.

We support our members and sector partners to generate knowledge and action in clinical management, research, education, policy and advocacy.

  • We develop national guidance on the testing and management of HIV.
  • We manage the National Standards and Accreditation Committee, which sets the national curriculum and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) standards for HIV s100 prescribers.
  • We administer an HIV General Practice Community Prescriber Program, as well as a program for general practitioners and nurses on the shared care of HIV with specialists.
  • We also offer a range of clinical training, education and resources to support all levels of the HIV workforce, including material for non-medical professions, such as the police and emergency services.

Information is organised according to relevant clinical milestones in HIV.
