International Program |
|
ASHM's international program is part of Australia's regional response to HIV epidemics in the Asian and Pacific regions. ASHM works with government, non-government, faith-based and private sector partners in the development and delivery of its international programs. As well as these sources of funding, ASHM allocates its own funds to support its international program.
The international program is guided by ASHM's international policy. It is managed by the
International Division within the Secretariat and reports to the ASHM Board and members through regular reports, this website and email alerts. ASHM members are encouraged to engage with the international program through a number of mechanisms, including occasional working parties, clinical mentoring in partner countries and teaching on international short courses.
ASHM's international program is focused on collaborative partnerships with professional societies of HIV and sexual health care providers in regional countries to provide support and technical expertise to national HIV programs.
AusAID is a major funder of ASHM's international work and ASHM is a member of the HIV Consortium for Partnerships in Asia and the Pacific. The Consortium is a group of nine Australian organisations working in regional partnerships to support national HIV programs. For more information about the Consortium email Mark Bebbington
