| B Positive - all you wanted to know about hep B
This practical manual, produced in collaboration with The Cancer Council NSW, will provide primary care practitioners with an overview of current hepatitis B knowledge in Australia - a field which is constantly changing and evolving.
General practitioners and other primary care professionals play a critical role in controlling the impact of hepatitis B in the general population, through testing and vaccinating people at potential risk, as well as identifying those who may benefit from monitoring and treatment. Whilst childhood vaccination plays an important role in preventing new infections, prevalence of chronic hepatitis B infection in Australia continues to increase, predominantly due to the high rate of hepatitis B infection amongst immigrants from endemic countries.
The resource includes factsheets for patients living with chronic infection, as well as contact details for useful organisations and resources.
Hardcopy Handbook
A limited number of B positive - all you wanted to know about hepatitis B: a guide for primary care providers have been printed through the generous support of state and territory health departments.
