Prevention and Screening for Malignancy
Friday, 5 May 2017. Clinical Education Centre, Auckland City Hospital, Auckland, NZ.
The next New Zealand HIV update is scheduled for Friday, 5 May 2017 and will build upon the hugely successful 2016 HIV update - the largest meeting yet. The 2017 meeting will build on this success, but will focus on the educational needs of clinicians and prescribers. The meeting will be clinically focused and will include a more tailored program of speakers – the two themes will be “Prevention” and “Screening for malignancy”. We are delighted to host Professor Andrew Grulich, Associate Professor Richard Hillman and Associate Professor Edwina Wright from Australia as speakers for this year’s clinical update. Speakers from all over New Zealand will be invited to contribute short lectures, each answering a topical clinical question. The meeting will close with networking over a formal sit down dinner.
As a new initiative, a PrEP workshop will run on Thursday, 4 May 2017, targeted at clinical professionals working in the sector. The educational workshop will focus on practical considerations for prescribers in New Zealand, where PrEP is not currently government funded.
