Whether you're a medical specialist, GP, nurse, student, researcher, health communicator or anyone else working in the HIV, viral hepatitis and related diseases sector we have a membership category to suit you.
This category is for individuals with a professional interest in the HIV, viral hepatitis, and sexual health sector.
Ordinary members have access to all the benefits of ASHM membership, including the right to vote at general meetings, hold office, and represent ASHM.
This category is for full-time students in an area of study relevant to HIV, viral hepatitis, sexual health or related conditions.
Student members have access to most benefits of ASHM membership, excluding the right to vote at general meetings, hold office or represent ASHM.
This category is for individuals with an ongoing interest in the sexual health sector who have been an Ordinary member of ASHM for five or more consecutive years, and are retired from fulltime employment.
Retired members have access to most benefits of ASHM membership, excluding the right to vote at general meetings, hold office or represent ASHM.
Sustaining membership is a category of membership which allows organisations or individuals who are interested in ASHM work to access all the benefits of membership EXCEPT the capacity to participate in ASHM governance. Sustaining members cannot vote, nominate or stand for election.
This non-voting membership category is for individuals residing outside of Australia and New Zealand or who do not wish to influence policy.
Individual Sustaining members have access to most benefits of ASHM membership, excluding the right to vote at general meetings, hold office or represent ASHM.
Individual employees in the pharmaceutical and diagnostics industry are invited to apply for Individual Sustaining Membership, but companies may be interested in applying for Organisational Sustaining Membership to cover all their relevant staff under an Affiliate program.
This category is offered to organisations that share our commitment to supporting the health sector.
Organisational membership is tailored to the size, nature and scope of an organisation. This may include the addition of an affiliate program, which extends most of ASHM membership benefits to staff and/or members at no extra individual cost.
If your organisation is interested in becoming a member of ASHM, we want to hear from you. Please contact the ASHM membership team and we'll gladly discuss a package tailored to suit your needs.
An individual person may be invited to be an Honorary Life Member by the Board in recognition of distinguished achievement and support of the ASHM Objectives.
Eligibility for Honorary Life Membership is determined at the Board's discretion.
The Board announces new Honorary Life Members each year at the AGM.
Please note that all membership applications must be approved by the ASHM Board and agree to further the Objects of ASHM as laid out in the ASHM Constitution.
