The obligatory CD4 + <500 count criteria for prescribing s100 medicines for HIV treatment has now been removed.

1 April 2014

From today, the obligatory CD4 + <500 count criteria for prescribing s100 medicines for HIV treatment is removed. This means that people with HIV need no longer wait for their CD4 counts to fall, or for clinical symptoms to emerge, before they can be prescribed PBS-subsidised treatments.
