Understand which patients to opportunistically test for Hepatitis B, confidently initiate conversations, identify and interpret diagnostic tests and learn to manage patients according to best practice guidelines.

 

 

Primary care practitioners can play a crucial role in vastly improving the health outcomes of their patients through early diagnosis and appropriate management of hepatitis B.

Learning Methods:

• This update will provide GPs and nurses with the knowledge to engage their patients in care, perform investigations and describe referral pathways with the opportunity to learn more about hepatitis B treatment and prescribing.

• Aboriginal Health Workers, allied health workers and non-clinical staff will be able to identify transmission, prevention, risk factors, testing, patient education and management/treatment support of Hepatitis B.
