It is estimated that over 210,000 people are living with chronic hepatitis B (CHB); of those over 56% were born overseas. In Western Sydney, there is in an overall hepatitis B prevalence rate of 1.55%. The majority of people living with CHB in Western Sydney, were born overseas, including China, the Philippines, Afghanistan, Vietnam and Fiji.

This course will enable participants to:

• Know who to test and how to interpret test results.

• Improve the outcome of patients through early diagnosis, follow up and appropriate management (including vaccination of contacts).

• Describe the intervention points throughout the natural history of HBV

• Identify the different treatment options available, and the need for lifelong monitoring, for people living with chronic HBV.

This course has been funded by NSW Health.

Registration Terms and Conditions:

Cancellations:

Registration cancellations and amendments must be notified in writing to ASHM. Cancellations received before 30 June 2017 will not incur a cancellation fee. Cancellations received in writing after 30 June 2017 will incur a $70 per day cancellation fee. This fee may be waived in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of ASHM.

Substitutions:

As an alternative to cancellation, your registration may be transferred to another person without incurring any penalty. ASHM must be advised of the transfer in writing. Please email the name, position, phone and email address of the new delegate to education@ashm.org.au.
