Hepatitis C New Treatments Course for Primary Care Providers

This course will cover patient assessment, screening for cirrhotic status, management of comorbidities, treatment choice and monitoring.

This course will cover the patient and prescriber eligibility for the new interferon-free treatments regimens listed on the PBS S85 (General Schedule) from 1 March 2016.

Completion of this course will assist primary care medical practitioners to confidently prescribe these new hepatitis C treatment regimens in consultation with a specialist. Participants will be provided with resources, protocols and support.

Learning Methods

This interactive workshop includes self-paced online learning modules with quizzes, PowerPoint presentations, case discussions, and group work facilitated by specialists experienced in the treatment of hepatitis C.

Conditions of registration:

Registration Cancellations:

Registration cancellations and amendments must be notified in writing to ASHM. Cancellations received before Monday 19 June will not incur a cancellation fee. Cancellations received in writing after Monday 19 June 2017 will incur a $110 course cancellation fee. This fee may be waived in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of ASHM.

Substitutions:

As an alternative to cancellation, your registration may be transferred to another person without incurring any penalty. ASHM must be advised of the transfer in writing. Please email the name, position, phone and email address of the new delegate to education@ashm.org.au
