This is a two hour presentation on the epidemiology and historical background of both Hepatitis B and C. Then covering the topics most practical to those working in the primary care setting: at risk populations, modes of transmission, and management including risk assessment, screening, testing diagnosis, and suitability and preparation for treatment.

This course will give primary care practitioners in Victoria an understanding of which at-risk patients to screen, identify infection, acknowledge stages of liver disease, understand how to prescribe, including different treatments available for Hepatitis B and C, monitor patients, appropriately refer to specialist care, and improve health outcomes for those living in the region.

Registration Cancellations:

Registration cancellations and amendments must be notified in writing to ASHM. Cancellations received before Wednesday 1st March 2017 will not incur a cancellation fee. Cancellations received in writing after Saturday 4th March 2017 will incur a $70 per day cancellation fee. This fee may be waived in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of ASHM.

Substitutions:

As an alternative to cancellation, your registration may be transferred to another person without incurring any penalty. ASHM must be advised of the transfer in writing. Please email the name, position, phone and email address of the new delegate to education@ashm.org.au.
