General Practitioners play a crucial role in delivering a healthier outcome through early diagnosis and appropriate management of both hepatitis B and C. This course will provide Primary Care providers in Refugee Health Services with the tools to diagnose, manage and support patients with viral hepatitis.

This update will focus on management of viral hepatitis within refugee Health Services. Topics covered include epidemiology, transmission, testing, monitoring, treatment and management of hepatitis B and C, and the integration of Primary Health Care with Tertiary care.

Case discussions will focus on practical management of patients with viral hepatitis.

Learning Methods:

This interactive workshop includes PowerPoint presentations and case discussions facilitated by specialists and General Practitioners experienced in the treatment and management of hepatitis B and hepatitis C.

Target Audience:

General Practitioners and Nurses providing Primary Health Care to patients from refugee backgrounds.

Conditions of registration:

Registration cancellations and amendments must be notified in writing to ASHM. Cancellations received before 23 February 2017 will not incur a cancellation fee. Cancellations received in writing after 23 February 2017 will incur a $70 per day cancellation fee. This fee may be waived in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of ASHM..

Substitutions:

As an alternative to cancellation, your registration may be transferred to another person without incurring any penalty. ASHM must be advised of the transfer in writing. Please email the name, position, phone and email address of the new delegate to education@ashm.org.au.
