  • Improving diagnosis is a patient safety imperative that requires a team effort.  In this conference, researchers, clinicians, cognitive psychologists, medical educators and patients come together to explore this rapidly expanding, often puzzling and exciting field of patient safety.
  • This conference brings together world and local leaders in diagnostic error, the safety sciences, health IT, medical indemnity providers and clinicians passionate about making diagnosis more accurate, timely and safe. The patient voice will be a focus of attention.  The language of diagnosis will be explored and the contribution that medical culture makes to diagnostic error (both in the positive and negative) will be examined.

The Society to Improve Diagnosis in Medicine (SIDM) catalyzes and leads change to improve diagnosis and eliminate harm, in partnership with patients, their families, the healthcare community, and every interested stakeholder.
