International HIV Monitoring and Evaluation Course
The Centre for International Health at Curtin University of Technology is offering a three-day International HIV Monitoring and Evaluation course in Perth just prior to the ASHM Annual Conference and Australasian Sexual Health Conference – from September 11 to September 13.
Such a course is intended for project planning and M&E consultants, research officers, information management officers, and line managers with responsibility for M&E with the following agencies:
- Consulting firms specialising in project management, monitoring and evaluation
- National government, provincial and municipal health, epidemiology and HIV/AIDS departments
- International and national NGOs
- Multilateral and bilateral international development assistance agencies
The course encompasses: key epidemiological and economic principles in M&E; global and regional trends; the results pathway; logical frameworks, their variations and alternatives; the distinction between national/sub-national and programme level M&E; biological surveillance; behavioural surveillance; health facility surveillance; evaluation research; and program monitoring; developing an operational M&E workplan and budget; and presenting and using results effectively for programme improvement.
